UPTEGROVE, Dr. Edward Pierson, 59, of Vernon, died this Thursday at Alexander Linn Hospital. Dr. UPTEGROVE was born at Edenville, NY, June 20, 1875, a son of William Pierson and Cornelia Ann (SLAUGHTER) UPTEGROVE. Besides his wife, Mrs. Edith Boyce (DENTON) UPTEGROVE; he is survived by a son, William Denton UPTEGROVE, student at Rider Business College at Trenton, and a daughter, Dorothy Denton UPTEGROVE, at home.

UTTER, Lewis "Lew" C., of Sussex, died at Linn Hospital, aged 57 yrs. Born: In Montague, 16 Jan 1878 , s/o Isaiah and Ann Lavina (BROOKS) UTTER. Survived by: Two daus, Mrs. Clarence TALMADGE of Franklin, and Mrs. George JOHNSON of Quarryville; and bros and sisters, Viola w/o William SCHILLING of NYC, Mrs. Jennie KESLER of Phillipsburg, Wallace of Wantage, and Zerah of Camden. Funeral: Harry House Funeral Home. Burial: Deckertown-Union Cemetery.

VALDIOEZ, Mrs. Maxcine, wife of Beltram VALDIOEZ, of Ogdensburg, died Sunday morning at the Franklin Hospital. She was forty-eight years old and was born in Mexico in 1890. Besides her husband she is survived by one niece at Ogdensburg. Funeral: St. Thomas' R. C. Church.   Burial: St. Thomas Cemetery.

VALENTINE, William H. of Morris Plains who for many years had a store in Andover and who for five years had worked in the Merchant store in Morris Plains, died suddenly from heart trouble Wednesday night of last week. He was sixty-eight years old and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ira LONGCORE and Mrs. D. L. GIBBS. Mr Valentine was born in Sussex county and spent most of his life here.

VANDERHUFF, Lewis W., "only son of" Mr. & Mrs. William S. VANDERHUFF of Deckertown, died at his home Friday night last (7 Dec) in 16th year, date of birth being 9 Feb 1885. Known as 'Little Lew'. Died of heart problem. Funeral: At his home, officiated by Rev. E. A. Hamilton. Interment in family plot at Papakating.

VANDERHUFF, William Swan, died Tuesday, 22 Sep 1903 at home on Main Street from 'apoplexy'. Born in Vernon on 15 Aug 1835 at the Vanderhuff homestead, youngest s/o Jacob and Elizabeth (Swan) Vanderhuff (10 children). Survived by wife, 'nee' Miss Jennie Lantz, two brothers, Abram Vanderhuff and Jeptha D. Vanderhuff 'of this borough', & five sisters, Mrs. Emily Martin, wid/o J. Ford of Port Jervis, Mrs. Temperance J. Thompson, wid/o John B. of Deckertown, Mrs. Sophia Martin, wid/o Thomas of Vernon, Mrs. Phebe Ann Martin, wid/o Samuel Fowler of Somerville, Wabash, IN, and Mrs. Tressa Carr, wife of John F., near Unionville; nephew Park Martin. Their "only child, a son" (not named) died about two years ago. Funeral : Pres. Ch, Rev. E. A. Hamilton officiating. Interment at Deckertown Union/Papakating Cem.

VANDERMARK, Benjamin J. aged 32 yrs, of Belleville, died last Friday morning, May 13, in the Newark Memorial Hospital. Born: In Layton, the son of Edward and Christena SMITH VANDERMARK. Survived by: His wife, Ruth MCKEEBY VANDERMARK, and a son, Benjamin Jr.; his father, Edward VANDERMARK, of Sussex, and a stepmother; one sister, Rose, wife of Oliver MCKEEBY, of Bloomfield, and the following half-brothers and sisters: Blanche, wife of William GLANTZ, of Wykertown; Crane,of Middletown, N. Y.; Earl, of Port Jervis; Russell, of Westtown, and Edward and Marion, of Middletown. Funeral:At his late home. Burial: Bloomfield Cemetery.

VANFLEET, Martin R. died on Tuesday at his home in Middletown, NY, aged 69 years, 5 months, and 5 days. He was a son of James VanFleet and was born in South Centreville and married Anna S. WILKIN who survives him with one son, William, residing in Washington, N.J. The funeral was held at the house this Thursday. Interment in Hillside cemetery.

VANGELDER, Grinnell died on Saturday at his residence near Unionville, aged 61 years and 15 days. He married Sarah ROE of Wantage who died some 12 years ago. They are survived by two children: Sarah, wife of Arthur HARDEN and Harriet, wife of John RANDOLPH of Wantage and Unionville. He was a son of Abram and Rebecca (Martin) Van Gelder of Wantage. The funeral was held at the house Tuesday, Rev. Jas. Bristow officiated. Interment in Deckertown Union (Papakating) Cemetery.

VAN ORDEN, Benjamin, died Sunday Feb. 8th at home near Central schoolhouse in Wantage aged ?? years, 9 months and 15 days. Survived by wife and following children: Ida, widow of George H. SWARTS; Fred, of Hamburg; Nelson, of Branchville; Minnie, wife of Charles ROBBINS; Raymond and Seymour of Wantage; Benjamin E., of McAfee; Mrs. Bert WILSON of Lewisburg; Miss Anna at home. A son, Lewis, died Friday, Feb. 6th. Burial: Clove Cemetery.

Survived by his wife, formerly Jennie WILSON; and two children: Mildred and Dorothy; also by mother, brothers and sisters: Fred of Hamburg; Nelson, of Branchville; Raymond and Seymour, of Wantage; Benjamin of McAfee; Mrs Geo. VANSICKLE, Sarah Almeda BROSS, died at her home, 31 Orange Street, on Sunday morning, aged nearly sixty-five years. Born: In High Point, Wantage township, N.J., on November 13, 1853, a dau/o the late Noah and Esther (WICKHAM) BROSS. On December 21, 1870 she was united in marriage to John E. VEALEY, Mrs. Anna M., wife of John H. Vealey, of Vernon Township, died at the Alexander Linn Memorial Hospital, December 24th. She was born in the house where she died, July 31, 1861, the daughter of the late William CRABTREE and Martha A. FREEMAN. Her only survivor is her husband. An only son, Anson VEALEY, died many years ago. Services will be conducted in the Vernon Methodist Church tomorrow by Rev. John Batterson. Burial in Warwick Cemetery.
