CHERRY RIDGE CEMETERY The Cherry Ridge Cemetery is located on the former John Utter farm in the now-vanished settlement of Cherry Ridge, now Pequannock Watershed property, north of the Tenneco Gas Pipeline and several hundred yards east of Cherry Ridge Road. It contains two marked burials. Recorded by Jennie Sweetman. This cemetery was ploughed over for cornfield in the early 20th century; two salvaged tombstones survive at a nearby farmhouse. Daniel Bailey (d. 16 May 1839) donated the land for the cemetery, and was among those buried at there. The graves were later relocated, many of them to Glenwood Cemetery. The information below was taken from a gravestone found upside down and used as a stone step on the grounds of the Apple Valley Inn in the 1970s, and presumed to have come from the Old Glenwood Cemetery once the grave was relocated.
